Laurel Elementary

Project Description

The Laurel Elementary project consisted of replacing interior finishes, windows, doors, frames, mechanical and electrical systems in the existing 16,060 square foot building. The project also included an 11,570 square foot addition and site improvements.

  • The construction of the single-story addition included a new foundation system of spread footings, slab-on-grade floor, and a new roof structure of metal deck over steel joists.
  • Building materials included concrete block load bearing walls with brick veneer, aluminum windows, exterior hollow metal doors and frames, interior wood doors and hollow metal frames, acoustical ceiling tile, painted wall surfaces, and VCT floor coverings. The office areas and media center were carpeted and the restrooms have ceramic tile.
  • All new mechanical, electrical, fire alarm, and intercom systems were provided.
  • Site improvements included grading, drainage, and concrete sidewalks, asphalt paving, and seed/sod.
